New President’s Appeal Chosen

December 10th Appeal – “Birthing in the Pacific”
Traditionally, there has been a December 10th Appeal chosen by the Soroptimist President. President Alice Wells (2011-2013) has chosen to support “Birthing in the Pacific.”

All clubs can participate at both a local and international level. This project works towards a specific issue with data to demonstrate measurable change: Increase skills, further educate birth attendants, and improve facilities to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity. SI President Alice Wells feels that the main contribution that clubs can make to this project, under the December 10th President’s Appeal, is to adopt a midwife and supply her equipment – a total of $350 AUS.
