Welcome to Soroptimist International of Oxnard’s inaugural website. Who would have thought that when our club was chartered back in 1945 that 60 years later we would have the ability to tell the world who we are, what we do, and why we do it in such an awesomely simple way?

Peace in the Home, Then the World! Children are born wanting to belong and to please others. With this imprint, it makes more sense to teach children how to make good choices, how to be respectful, how to come to peaceful resolutions. If peace and respect is taught in the home, then it spreads out into our communities as our children take their places in society. To do so, we must overcome hate, violence, greed, fighting, cruelty. We must overcome all that tears families apart and concentrate on all that brings them together. If our society sanctions peace rather than violence, then peace becomes the norm. What a gift that would be to leave for the future!
